Hoot With Me - Lets Talk
An overview of our lessons
Drawing on my CPCAB counselling training (Levels 2 & 3, currently studying Level 4), Circle of Security principles, and trauma informed approaches, I create gentle, accessible emotional literacy lessons that help children explore their emotions in a safe and playful way, to mainstream schools, specialist settings, and community groups.
Important Note
These sessions are not counselling or therapy. They are educational, creative, and grounded in approaches that have supported children in my care and in school settings. My aim is to guide children in learning emotional tools — not to provide therapy.
What We Deliver
With a little help from my owl family, I aim to support children in an environment where they can feel seen, heard and valued, and where they can explore their emotions without judgement, to recognise what they need, and build emotional tools they can use at school, at home, and in their wider world.
The aim is to support children explore
• How to recognise and name their feelings
• How to manage big emotions
• How to understand what their body is telling them
• How to choose healthy ways to cope
• How to communicate their needs
• How to feel safe, grounded, and confident
• Build emotional tools that support them
• How to recognise their strengths and celebrate who they are
Our Lessons Offer
• Every session is tailored to the needs of the group — whether that’s:
• A busy mainstream classroom
• PSHE ( Personal, Social, Health, and Economic education)
• A small specialist or SEN provision
• A community group seeking support with communication, or emotional expression
We ensure every child can access learning in a way that works for them.
Creative, Accessible Learning
My approach blends:
• Storytelling and character based learning (including our owl family)
• Reflective activities
• Sensory tools and calming objects
• Movement and grounding exercises
• Visual supports and emotion cards
This makes emotional learning accessible for all children, including those who are neurodiverse or who find traditional learning environments challenging.
We focus on small, achievable tools that children can use at school, at home, and in their wider world.
A Safe, Supportive Space
Every session is delivered with:
• Warmth
• Patience
• A trauma informed, neuro affirming approach
These sessions are not counselling or therapy. They are educational, creative, and based on tools that have supported children in my care and in school settings.
Whatever your groups please get in touch, I will create gentle, accessible lessons that help children explore their emotions in a safe and playful way, to meet the need of your students. We would love to hear from you!
